Air quality for schools

Schools are an important stakeholder within the LEN, their students adding to the vibrancy and diversity of the area. We know that air quality is a concern for our schools and that poor air quality significantly impacts school-aged children.
To educate children on the impacts on poor air quality, we are hosting Play Street events and a hands-on School Engagement programme for pupils.
Our Play Street events will encourage children to play outdoors and learn about the many benefits of having clean air. Children will also learn to cycle and scooter, in a fun and safe environment.
Our School Engagement programme offers pupils a variety of interactive projects that bring awareness to local air quality.
In June 2017, the LEN hosted its first ever Play Street at St. Mary’s Bryanston Square Primary School. For a few hours, Enford Street was closed to vehicle traffic, allowing students to play outdoors in a safe and friendly environment.
The full story can be found here.
