Paddington Street Gardens

Built in the 18th century, the Paddington Street Gardens provide an important public green space within the Marylebone LEN. This leafy popular park, located just behind Marylebone High Street, provides local residents with a formal open grass area, a children’s playground and flower gardens. In the summer months, the gardens host open air concerts and other events.

The Paddington Street Gardens were organically built on the south and north side of Paddington Street, as it remains today. With Paddington Street dividing the two halves of the gardens, it can feel that the gardens are separate from one another.

The concept for the Paddington Street Gardens is to better connect the two halves of the gardens both physically and visually. To address poor air quality along Paddington Street, we will introduce more greenery between the gardens, using trees and other planting that are known to improve air quality.
